About LARC : Introducing Betty Bass!!
on 2007/10/15 23:40:00 (222 reads)

Hi I'm Betty Bass,

On October 10, 2007, Mr Michael Mansfield from Flagstone won a $50 gift voucher from BCF for winning a competition to name me!! Isn't he lucky!!!

I live in the Logan River and pretty soon I'm hoping that you are going to be seeing me all over the catchment!

The Logan-Albert Rivers Catchment Association have been working hard to get funds to improve my home, the Logan River. So pretty soon they'll be more of me around!!!

Also I'm going to be popping up in newspapers across the catchment, helping humans to understand what impacts they are having on my home and how they can help to ensure that I have all the things I need to live and breed in the catchment. I can't wait for you to see my smiling face in the newspapers - keep an eye out for me won't you!!!

I also feature in a catchment game - you can borrow this 6m x 9m giant board game from LARC anytime you like. To get a sneak peak of what it looks like Click here. (3mg pdf file)

About LARC : Welcome

Welcome to the Logan-Albert Rivers Catchment Association Website. This site has been designed to help students and the general community to learn more about the catchment in which we live.

Each heading in the main menu has links to various maps and action plans that have been developed over the last 6 years and these will be regularly updated as new scientific information becomes available. These sections have been designed to help people with no knowledge of the issues in the catchment to learn more about it.

If you are a teacher or a student wanting to learn more about catchment management in general, please visit our education theme.

If you are interested in volunteering to work on one of the many projects we have happening in the catchment at the moment. Please feel free to explore our current and completed project listings and view our photo album to get an idea of what projects we (or our member organisations) have been working on.

We trust you enjoy your visit to our site and hope that you will fill out our surveys/polls and feedback page to help us respond to your needs in the future.
